You can bring whatever
art medium you prefer. Most people who attend use acrylics, pastels or
sketching pencils.
A limited number of easels and drawing boards are provided free of
charge for the evening. If you have your own easel you can bring it
along.
The costume models used on the Monday sessions tend to pose for an
hour at a time. From May 2009, on the first Thursday of every month,
the life drawing sessions will tend to do short sets of poses (5
minutes per pose) for the first hour, then a set pose for the final
hour. Remember it is your club, so
active help and good ideas from you are always welcome.
Each art session last
for approx two hours with a 15 min break in-between.
Tea & coffee is provided (25p per cup)
If you are interested in
joining after your first visit, you can either pick-up a membership
form at Stockport Art Gallery or print one off
this website (Go to the
APPLICATION FORM link).
It is advisable to become a member if
you wish to attend more than one art session as you will be able to
benefit from a monthly newsletter, eligible to submit artwork to the
Guild's annual exhibition etc...

Parking at the
venue
You can park either in Stockport College car park,
which is free of charge during the evenings.
The alternative is Stockport Council car park (behind the Town Hall,
first left off Edward Street). The cost is 50p.
The added advantage is
that it is more secure.
The
Edward Street car park is closed at present. However, the Grand
Central car park is free after 6pm.
There is also a pay and display car park
off Greek Street, at the end
of Armoury Road.
